Trump Claims Iran Has Agreed to Major Concessions on Nuclear Program and Terrorism Support

In a phone interview on Friday, President Donald Trump announced that Iran has “agreed to everything” in ongoing negotiations with the United States, including the complete removal of its enriched uranium stockpile and an end to its support for proxy terrorist groups.

Trump told CBS News that Iran will work directly with the U.S. to remove its enriched uranium, a key demand aimed at preventing Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon. He emphasized that the operation would not involve American ground troops, but when pressed on who would handle the retrieval, he replied only that “our people” would do it.

“No. No troops,” Trump said. “We’ll go down and get it with them, and then we’ll take it. We’ll be getting it together because by that time, we’ll have an agreement and there’s no need for fighting when there’s an agreement. Nice right? That’s better. We would have done it the other way if we had to.”

According to the president, once the enriched uranium is secured, it will be transported to the United States. “Our people, together with the Iranians, are going to work together to go get it. And then we’ll take it to the United States,” he stated.

Trump also claimed that Iran has agreed to stop backing militant groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas, which the U.S. and many of its allies designate as terrorist organizations. These groups have long been accused of carrying out attacks across the Middle East with Iranian support.

When asked about the timing of a formal announcement, Trump said the two sides are scheduled to meet this weekend. He added that the United States would maintain its blockade on Iran “until we get it done.”

The statements come amid heightened tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and its regional influence. If confirmed, the reported agreements would represent a significant diplomatic breakthrough, potentially reducing the threat of nuclear proliferation and lowering conflict in the Middle East. However, details remain limited, and no official confirmation from Iranian officials has been reported yet.

This is a developing story.
