President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery Truth Social rant on December 8, 2025, attacking both CBS’s 60 Minutes and his former ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her “Marjorie Traitor Greene” and comparing her to a “Rotten Apple.”
The outburst came just days after Greene’s emotional sit-down with veteran journalist Lesley Stahl aired on 60 Minutes. In the interview, the Georgia congresswoman—who shocked Washington by announcing her resignation from the House on November 22—blamed Trump for a wave of violent threats against her family that followed the president’s public attacks.
Greene told Stahl that after Trump began calling her a “traitor,” she received death threats with the subject line “Marjorie Traitor Greene,” including one that targeted her son’s life and another that claimed a pipe bomb had been placed at her home. When she reached out to Trump privately about the threats, she said his response “wasn’t very nice” and was “extremely unkind.”
Trump fired back on Truth Social, insisting the only reason Greene “went BAD” was because she felt “JILTED” by him. “Too much work, not enough time, and her ideas are, NOW, really BAD,” he wrote, mocking her by saying “Green turns Brown under stress!”
He also took fresh shots at 60 Minutes and CBS News, reminding followers of the $16 million legal settlement Paramount (CBS’s parent company at the time) paid him in July 2025 over claims the network deceptively edited his 2024 interview with Stahl to favor Kamala Harris.
“THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE OLD OWNERSHIP, who just paid me millions of Dollars for FAKE REPORTING about your favorite President, ME!” Trump posted. “Since they bought it, 60 Minutes has actually gotten WORSE!”
The public feud between Trump and Greene—one of the biggest surprises of his second term—has been building for months. Greene has repeatedly said the breaking point came when Trump refused to back her push to fully release the Jeffrey Epstein client files, something she argued the American people deserved to see. Trump and his team, however, have insisted Greene turned against House Republicans because he wouldn’t endorse her rumored 2026 Senate run against Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff.
What started as one of Trump’s loudest and most loyal cheerleaders in Congress has now ended in resignation, death threats, and an all-out social-media war—one that shows no signs of cooling down.
